ARIMIDEX 1 MG 30 TABLETS
Anastrozole (also known as armidex) is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor drug (acronym AI) developed in 1995 by Zeneca Pharmaceucitals for the treatment of breast cancer after surgery and for metastasis in women. Anastrozole is used to inhibit the synthesis of estrogens.
Use of anastrozole in bodybuilding. When male athletes use anabolic steroids, some of them are converted by the enzyme aromatase to the female hormone estradiol (aromatization). The most flavoring steroids are testosterone esters and methandienone. If estradiol is not inhibited by taking aromatase (IA) inhibitors, unpleasant side effects can occur. The most common of them is gynecomastia, that is, the accumulation of female breast tissue in men under the impact of the female hormone estradiol. Estradiol also causes fluid retention and an increase in the amount of subcutaneous fat. As a result, it can increase blood pressure, heart pressure, and depression. High estradiol levels can negatively affect libido.
On the other hand, large amounts of anastrozole or stronger aromatase inhibitors can suppress estradiol too much. As a result, we can also expect erectile dysfunction, loss of energy, depression.
The main advantage of anastrozole compared to antiestrogens (SERMs) such as tamoxifen or clomiphene is the fact that anastrozole blocks the production of the enzyme aromatase, therefore preventing the generation of estradiol in the early stages, while that antiestrogens only prevent estradiol from contacting the corresponding receptors by binding to them instead of estradiol, but do not reduce its production in the body. Therefore, estradiol can still circulate in the bloodstream in large amounts when you take antiestrogens.
Anastrozole has no adverse side effects. Actually, by affecting estradiol, it can suppress the level of good cholesterol (HDL). However, compared to AI as letrozole, anastrozole is preferable. Letrozole has quite a few side effects, the most common of which is erectile dysfunction. Although estradiol is known as a female hormone, men still need it. Estradiol maintains hormonal balance, participates in a large number of physiological processes and helps to gain muscle mass and strength. An AI as powerful as letrozole kills almost all estradiol, upsets hormonal balance, and causes a number of side effects, such as erectile dysfunction, joint pain, bone fragility, discomfort, etc. Anastrozole works more smoothly and does not kill all estradiol right away, allowing you to fine-tune your hormonal balance.
The recommended starting dose of anastrozole 0.5 mg per day or every other day. Remember, the dose of anastrozole depends on the dose of flavoring steroids in the cycle.
